Not all photographs that I take are contrived, which is why there is a category for life.

New York | For the First Time

New York City. Life. Business. Chaos.

As I took the cab into New York City for the first time my jaw dropped and my gaze rose up to the skyscrapers.  Life is in constant movement.  Every form of movement imagined constantly surrounds you.  I loved how the city, noise and movement won’t stop for you, but will move around you to keep its pace.  This is my attempt at capturing how the city looked through my eyes and the nonstop movement that I felt.

New York | The Business Man

New York City. Life. Business. Chaos.

Streets of Manhattan, New York.  Nothing more distinguished than a businessman in his work attire.  In these portraits I was trying to mix the sophisticated with the dirty streets of New York.

New York | Times Square Photographer

New York City. Life. Business. Chaos.

Times Square, New York.  Like every random meeting, I came upon this perfect shot and had to take advantage! It sounds impossible to be larger than life in New York City, but that’s exactly how I shot these images.  The surroundings speak for themselves, the lights, people, the constant movement, sounds and smells in the air.

Thanks for permission to take these photos sir! I hope you’re as happy with them as I am. Cheers!

Summer – A Day at Bolsa Chica

Something about a family gathering at the beach that just screams “SUMMER.”  I was able to catch a couple fun family moments at Bolsa Chica beach in California this weekend. Digging in the sand and playing in the water, equaled plenty of great moments. These are some of the photos from the first weekend in summer.

Clack Family Reunion

Nowadays, due to situation and circumstances, family members often move farther and farther away from the communities they grew up in. The practice of holding a family reunion helps assemble branches and generations of families together, that otherwise don’t have an opportunity to see each other.

At this Reunion family was reunited, traditions were shared and there was unity in a family otherwise separated by circumstance.

It was easy to be engrossed in the essence of what makes this family, a family. The children running around. Food preparation. Arrival of new guests. Hugs. The snap of a quick photo. Smiles. Jokes and stories shared. Children in a chase squealing and laughing. The heat rising as the sun beats down. Aromas wafting through the air with promising of flavors. The Banner with the Name of the Day. Someone starting up a baseball game. Sitting down in a circle with the lawn chairs. Someone turning on the soft twang of country music. The very carefree air of people talking and eating and mingling around.

It was all of this and more that I attempted to capture at this event. Reunions are personal, so I tried to convey the personality that was so apparent at this event. I hope you enjoy the photos!

A Day at the Beach

With all the incredible weather we’ve been having, I made my way down to the beach and was able to capture some incredible details that encompassed the whole trip.  Here they are. icon smile A Day at the Beach
